Celebration and Re-Dedication of Yorba Linda Parks

by Jan Horton on June 13, 2010

Here are some photos from the Celebration and Rededication of the Yorba Linda parks damaged during the Freeway Complex Fire. The ceremony for all damaged parks (Box Canyon, Bryant Ranch, Jean Woodard, and Eastside Community) was held at Box Canyon Park and the enthusiasm from all the parents and children was readily apparent. The children could not wait to start climbing on the castle and pirate ship! A few of the parents could not wait either!!
Today was a big day, signifying our community’s resilience and hope. It was a day of celebration and healing for the neighbors and the community.  I hope everyone in Yorba Linda has an opportunity to visit all of our community parks, especially the newly repaired parks.

how long after an election are the election signs allowed to be left all over the city b/4 they must be removed and discarded?
I personally removed over 20 signs on the south side of Imperial Hwy between Valley View and the community center on Thursday 6/11…I truly expected all signs to be removed by this weekend, but today Sunday there are still many, many signs left to become litter.

All signs are supposed to be removed. We often see candidates that either lose or those elected to higher office do not return to retrieve their signs. After 10 days, City staff will start to gather them up. You should see a big change next week. Thanks for helping remove the sign blight.

Jan, If the city staff has to gather up the election signs. The candidates should be fined per sign for each one that was collected by the city. I, as a taxpayer, do not want to pay for cleaning up their clutter. I have enough of my own!!!!! Jody Schmalz
