What the **** is this?!? I want a library for my kids. Why are the idiots (city officials) using MY tax money to fund this ****. This will be no help to the economy. Have you ever thought that housing value will drop? Great job pathetics, you just came up with a plan that will further the bad economy. It’s a wonder, the President hasn’t stopped you!

At the public meeting in January 2011, staff was directed to prepare and distribute a Request For Proposal (RFP). The intent was to see if there was a private party interested in developing the Vista Del Verde site as an equestrian center. The land would be leased to this private party at a low cost.
I am unsure where the RFP is at this time. I would have thought there would have been a response from an interested party if the RFP was distributed.

Problems:
1. The consultant we had hired about a year ago stated that in order to have an equestrian center, the City would have to financially assist with the project.
2. El Rodeo Equestrian Center in undergoing renovation and will open with stables to board horses and an arena where you can hold shows. El Rodeo is on Carbon Canyon. With the number of individuals owning horses declining, I question whether the surrounding communities would be able to support both facilities. It appears before we commit land and resources to this project, we need to reevaluate the need now that we will have a stable within 10 minutes of our community.
