My Goal While Serving the Community of Yorba Linda

  • Place Yorba Linda Residents FIRST in the decision making of our city’s development, not developers or special interest groups. I pledge to listen and respond to your concerns respectfully.
  • Preserve the low-density nature of our city.
  • Coordinate with the Brea Police Department to develop a plan to begin immediate reduction of Crime in our community. This may include community education programs to increase our awareness.
  • Maintain property rights of individuals so that the use of eminent domain is never a “tool in the tool belt” again for financial gain.
  • Promote fiscal responsibility in the operations of Yorba Linda.
  • Safeguard property we own in town center and not let go to ruin- it is our tax dollars investment
  • Obtain FPPC rulings to allow my participation in the Town Center process.
  • Promote Responsible Development of our downtown and other areas of our city while maintaining the character and charm of Yorba Linda; semi-rural, low-density atmosphere.
  • Preserve and protect our open space including the hiking and equestrian trails
  • Support the equestrian community by assuring safe trail conditions and transitions to these trails
  • Protect our historical homes, monuments and landmarks to prevent deterioration from neglect.
  • Promote further development of parks and recreational amenities including the Veterans Park, additional tennis courts and other open spaces the entire community can enjoy.
  • Support the building of a Cultural Arts Center for community use and enjoyment.
  • Promote Old Town merchants with city-sponsored activities to increase awareness of our town center, ie  Health fair, monthly concerts on the farmers market site to coincide with potential fund-raising booths from scouts, city clubs, …
  • Support the small business owners of our town. Development should enhance their ability to be successful in our community, not be threatened with eminent domain or being forced out by “big box” stores or developers.
  • Promote a reasonable Planning Department Process so YL Citizens understand what is expected and rules do not change as you  go through the process of remodels, additions or new construction.
  • Work with neighboring communities to mitigate projects that may negatively impact Yorba Linda with regards to traffic, safety and resource availability.
  • Continue to negotiate with the railway system to provide mediation for train noise and visual blight.
